With all the shortcomings of the solution, boric acid is very useful for our plants. Now imagine that a fertilizer appeared on the market that has all the same advantages (and many others), but is completely devoid of the disadvantages of boric acid. Potassium metabolite - This is a modern new boron-containing fertilizer. Its composition includes boron and potassium, but according to the doses of application, we focus on boron.
Fertilizer, unlike boric acid, is very soluble in cold water.
For comparison: boric acid at a temperature of 20 °C in 100 ml of water dissolves 5 g, and potassium metabolite at the same temperature in 100 ml of water dissolves 70 g.
Boron, as an element, is necessary for plants:
- when germinating pollen grains,
- with pollen tube growth,
- in cell division,
- in the formation of seeds and cell membranes,
- in protein synthesis,
- when carrying sugars.
It is necessary to use boron-containing fertilizers during budding and flowering of crops, as well as during the formation of the crop. It is recommended to combine foliar top dressing or watering with plant protection products or other types of fertilizers (complexes).
Boron deficiency is most pronounced on alkaline (carbonate) soils or when watering from wells with a pH above 7.0 and containing a large amount of carbonates (bicarbonates).
