Ingredients for Valentine's Day Cookies
For the test:
- 1 tbsp. flour (approximately 130 g);
- 100 g butter (i.e. half a pack);
- 1 tbsp. l Sahara.

- 1-2 tbsp. butter;
- sprinkle confectionery.
The method of preparation of shortbread cookies "Hearts" for Valentine's Day:
We make shortcrust pastry: sift the flour into a bowl, add sugar and softened butter, cut into pieces.
Grind the ingredients with your hands. First you get crumbs. Keep kneading the dough, and the baby dies into one lump. If the dough crumbles, add a little soft butter. If on the contrary, it sticks to your hands, add a little flour. The finished dough is soft, does not crumble, but does not stick. Put the dough in the refrigerator for 15 minutes. In the meantime, you can click and peel the nuts for decoration. It will be delicious with any: walnuts, almonds, hazelnuts or cashews.
Taking the dough out of the refrigerator, lightly sprinkle the table and the baking sheet with flour. Roll out the dough into a cake from 0.5 to 1 cm thick. Thin cookies bake faster and turn out to be crispy, and the thicker will bake a little longer, but it will turn out friable.
Cut out cookies from the dough with a heart-shaped cookie and carefully, since the cookies are very tender, we transfer them to a baking sheet. While you make cookies, turn on the oven - let it warm up to 200 ° C.
At this point, you can sprinkle cookies with sugar with cinnamon or vanilla if you do not want to make chocolate icing. It is necessary to mix 1.5-2 tbsp in a saucer. sugar and ¼ teaspoon cinnamon (or 1 teaspoon vanilla sugar), or sugar with chopped nuts, sprinkle each cookie and gently press the sprinkle with your finger so that it does not sprinkle. If you glaze cookies with chocolate, we bake just like that.
We bake cookies at 200-210 ° C for 20-25 minutes, taking into account the features of your oven. Cookies should become dry, crumbly and slightly gilt, but at the same time remain light. If the cookies are brown, it means they overexposed a little. But it’s nothing, now we will prepare the icing and topping for decoration!
Break the chocolate into pieces and put in a water bath. When it melts, put a piece of soft butter (15-25 g) and mix. The butter will melt and you will get a smooth chocolate coating. Dip cooled cookies into it with the upper side - or apply icing with a teaspoon.
If the icing is too thick, add a little more butter to the chocolate. If liquid - you can bring to the desired consistency by adding cocoa powder.
While the icing has not had time to harden, sprinkle the Hearts cookies for chopped nuts, colored pastry topping for Valentine's Day. To freeze the icing on the finished, put the cookies in the refrigerator. And when the decoration “seizes”, carefully shift the hearts cookies onto the dish.
