The most common bacterial infections are: bacterial burn, bacterial root cancer, bacterial necrosis, bacterial spotting.
Symptoms of a bacterial infection
Typical symptoms of bacteria damage to the aboveground organs of apple trees:
at bacterial cancer or bacterial necrosis are the appearance of blisters on young shoots that open, exposing the internal tissues of the plant. Leaves are covered with brown spots. In general, the affected organs of the plant have dents in a pink-brown gamut of flowers with a border of violet color,
at bacterial burn affected tree branches look like scorched by fire. The manifestation of the disease begins in early spring (budding) in the form of browning and blackening of the generative and vegetative organs, the cessation of their growth and development. A tree may suddenly die or become covered with blisters of various sizes filled with bacterial mucus. It flows from wounds, ovaries, cracks in the cortex, bursting bubbles. Covers the affected organs with a gray film or solidifies in the form of milky white drops. The multiplied bacteria move from young to larger plant organs through the vessels, causing the death of the entire plant,
at bacterial root cancer the disease can appear first on the root neck and then on the trunk and branches of trees in the form of smooth growths, which eventually ulcerate and become brown or black. Bacteria, penetrating into tissues through wounds, cracks, cuts (saw cuts), damage to the integrity of the cortex by insects, are booming. They cause increased division of tissue cells and, as a consequence, the proliferation and formation of sag. Inflows decay over time, bacteria move into the healthy tissue of the aboveground and underground organs, including the roots. Growing on the roots, the tumor becomes solid. Aboveground and underground organs cannot function normally and the tree dies.
Remedies for bacterial damage
As with other diseases, the main means is the correct agricultural technology of the garden. In order to maintain his “health”, it is necessary not only to perform all the procedures in a timely manner, but also to take measures to prevent pathogens from entering the garden. To do this, you must:
- for planting, use absolutely healthy planting material of zoned varieties, better purchased in specialized nurseries.
- always disinfect working tools, especially when grafting, pruning and other procedures that violate the integrity of the outer covers of plants,
- if treatment with drugs does not give positive results, the tree must be destroyed outside the garden, and the location in the garden is thoroughly disinfected with bactericidal preparations, solutions of mineral fertilizers, copper or iron sulfate.
Bacterial microorganisms have a negative effect copper preparations: Bordeaux liquid, vitriol, copper chloride. Their use against fungal diseases simultaneously protects apple trees from bacterial diseases.
A number of products have been released and work effectively. bactericidal biological products directed action: pentofag-C, haupsin, phytolavin (phytobacteriomycin), phytosporin, gamair (bactericide), alirin-B. The developed biological products are based on spore bacteria. The drugs are absolutely harmless to family members, animals and beneficial insects. The norms, methods and timing of the introduction of drugs are described in detail in the accompanying documentation and recommendations for use for a specific disease and specific culture.
