Spring not only pleases the soul, but also brings a lot of trouble to those who are allergic to pollen. Their nose and eyes become a kind of indicator of flowering of hazel, birch and alder.
An allergic disease caused by pollen is called hay fever. A spring outbreak is usually associated with the flowering of anemophiles - plants whose pollen is carried by the wind. Trees “throw out” their earrings before the leaves open and begin to dust in April - early May. But the torment of people with hypersensitivity to pollen does not end there. In June, pine, dandelions, foxtail, linden bloom. At the peak of summer, other cereals — fescue, hedgehog, wheatgrass, bluegrass and timothy grass — pick up the baton; in August-September allergy sufferers are “pleased” with quinoa, wormwood and sunflower.
Today we will talk about spring hay fever. But before giving recommendations, I note that all allergies are very personal diseases. Sometimes a remedy that helps one can harm another. In addition, allergies like an iceberg - only its external manifestations are visible, all the main "events" occur in the body. In the treatment of allergies, the experience and instinct of a phytotherapist are especially important. And one more note: at the first manifestation of the disease, do not use the collections of herbs, start with one plant. This approach will allow you to choose the most harmless and effective treatment for you personally.
Most often, allergy sufferers manifest one of the four symptoms of hay fever: rhinitis (non-stop runny nose), conjunctivitis (redness and inflammation of the eyes), respiratory failure (up to bronchial asthma) and distinguishing; inflammatory skin diseases. In the treatment of hay fever, they primarily solve two main problems: they strive to reduce the severity of the patient's condition and normalize his immunity.
Even our ancestors were able to treat with plants the disease caused by other plants. Traditional medicine offers about two dozen herbs to normalize immunity, most of which are weeds (dioecious nettle, field horsetail, and others). The violet tricolor, white cassava, coniferous leafweed, common black-headed beetle, round-leaved pear, small duckweed, licorice naked, yellow gentian, and birch are quite deserving of a permanent “residence permit” in the garden plot. By the way, official medicine adds to this list creeping thyme, oregano and three-leafed shift.
It is believed that plant number 1 to enhance immunity - echinacea purpurea. However, I advise you to be very careful with it and not to use it without the permission of your doctor. After all, this is a powerful immunostimulant, but not with any allergy, such stimulation is useful.
I especially draw your attention to plant number 2 - frankincense. In recent years, almost no symposium or conference on medicinal plants, nutrition problems can not do without talking about the incense. Medicinal raw materials are leaves, both dried and overwintered and even young. If the incense is already growing in your flower beds, then as soon as the snow melts, you will have the most valuable medicine. Brew leaves like tea and drink.
Plant number 3 to increase immunity - elecampane high. Medicinal raw materials are roots, they are usually dug in the fall, but it is also possible in the spring. For a long time, the plant has traditionally been considered as an antitussive, but studies in recent years have proved that the spectrum of action of elecampane is much wider. Recently, the plant was ranked as a group of adaptogens (this also includes ginseng, aralia, etc.), which mobilize the body's defenses and accelerate recovery. And elecampane is also capable of normalizing immunity. Only it is not shown to all allergy sufferers: those who respond to the bloom of wormwood cannot be used. There are always a lot of elecampane in my flower beds, I usually make wine out of it. I take 20 g of raw roots, 0.75 liters of red dry wine, 1 tbsp. teaspoon of sugar, boil the mixture for 20 minutes and insist. In the evenings I take 50 g of the drug, as a result, neither fatigue nor colds.
For allergic skin diseases I recommend Ural licorice. Scientists at the Gorno-Taiga station of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences have proved its effectiveness. Only licorice, like echinacea, requires accuracy. It is good for women, especially of mature age, but for boys, young men and men it is better to find something else. Substances in the plant, such as female sex hormones, can affect the genital area.
Another plant is fir, it can not only decorate a site. From its needles, you can prepare an extract in olive oil, which helps with dermatitis and diathesis. By the way, this is also one of the best remedies for the common cold, including allergic.
I can not help but mention evening primrose. Its oil-rich seeds contain a very rare but extremely beneficial gamma-linolenic acid. With the help of evening primrose, many diseases are treated, including skin and atherosclerosis. Collect the seeds and pass through a coffee grinder. To prevent skin rashes, take the resulting slurry half a teaspoon per day, and during treatment - 3 times a day. Just keep in mind that crushed seeds oxidize quickly, so each portion will have to be cooked again.
Spring is in full swing, and the listed plants are not yet on your site and you have not yet collected the necessary raw materials. Do not worry, in the garden and nearby you will find useful wild plants. For example, with a skin manifestation of an allergy, a decoction of rhizomes helps wheat grass creeping. For 100 g of fresh roots, take 2 cups of boiling water and insist the raw materials for an hour. Then boil for another 5 minutes, filter, bring the volume of infusion to two glasses. Adults take the drug for 1 tbsp. spoon before meals, children under three years old - a teaspoon, and up to seven years old - a dessert spoon. Course duration 1 month. But keep in mind that July wheatgrass can no longer be used.
And you can dig up rhizomes burdock and dandelion. An infusion of them is also a fairly common remedy for hay fever. If weeping dermatitis (like eczema) is concerned, lotions from dandelion leaf juice give a good effect. Usually such patients bring relief and baths with infusion juniper.
An allergic rhinitis literally drives a person crazy. In the pharmacy there are plenty of drugs against this scourge. But do not miss everything, remember the individual selection of funds. As for conjunctivitis, then in this case you need to immediately trust a specialist. Before going to the doctor, you can rinse your eyes with strong tea.
