Garden for the baby
For many of us, working in the garden is not just a pleasure, we work to provide our relatives with fresh vegetables and fruits, to please the children with berries. And they, our children, grandchildren, trying to imitate us, also want to participate in the process of growing vegetables. And in order not to discourage them from being participants in this fascinating process, psychologists recommend allocating a special children's bed at the summer cottage. How to do it right? Let's figure it out!
Choosing a place for a children's bed
Based on the fact that, due to the age-related features of the psyche, the kids very quickly lose interest in any business, the children's garden must be located in a convenient place for passage, close to the source of water and exclusively in the sun. This will allow the child to freely approach his bed and provide ease of care for it. The size of the allocated area should be small, the land fertilized.
Stock for baby
In order for the baby to feel the full responsibility of the venture, he needs gardening equipment. It is better to buy a shovel, rake, watering can, bucket and chopper in a specialized gardening store and preferably of good quality, because if the child is uncomfortable working with them, it will become uninteresting. The best option is a joint choice of tools, because any new business develops the baby, providing him with new knowledge.
We buy seeds
A great solution would be a joint purchase of seeds. Multi-colored bags can, of course, confuse the crumbs with their variety, but you will have the opportunity to tell your child how many vegetable crops you can plant on the garden bed.
What to plant in a children's bed?
When choosing vegetables for a children's garden, you should not run after the quantity, because your goal is to show your child that the garden is interesting. Based on this, focus on plants that have unpretentious agricultural technology, active development, friendly yield and high applicability. What could it be? Let's take a closer look.
This culture should be chosen due to the fact that it sprouts quickly, together grows vegetative mass and has delicious fruits. It is interesting for any child to soak pea seeds in gauze, to observe how cotyledons rise above the ground, to see how pods grow in place of flowers. In addition, it is not difficult to care for peas, all he needs is watering and support, and this is a baby's strength.
It needs to be sown already only because it grows so beautifully and together. And collected by the child for lunch, he gives the garden garden special significance. To enhance the decorative effect, as well as the vitamin diversity, choose for the baby not one, but several varieties of lettuce that differ in color at once and sow them interspersed - let the garden become colorful.
It is not necessary to get involved in this culture on a large scale, however, planting a couple of potatoes in a mini-garden will not hurt. Why? Yes, because the child will be interested to know that tasty fruits do not always appear at the place of flowers, but sometimes form underground, in the form of tubers.
Another suitable vegetable for growing children. Rather large fruits grow from its small seeds, and this is also interesting for the baby. But here you need to be careful and choose not climbing varieties that occupy a significant part of the garden, but compact shrub varieties.
This spicy-aromatic plant is good for the child in that he can pluck it for mom when she will cook soup, cut salad or decorate dishes. And if the parsley is on the festive table, it will be possible to tell the guests about the small garden.
The culture is not entirely childish, but where would it be without it. For crumbs, choose one of the bush varieties that does not need to be studded, or buy seedlings of the Balcony Wonder variety. When planting small plants, tell the baby that not all vegetables need to be sown on the bed with seeds, some will yield faster if grown in advance in pots on the window.
It may not be a vegetable crop, but without it, the children's bed will be inferior. Plant together with the baby several bushes of a repairing variety or 4 - 5 rosettes of small-fruited strawberries, and the child will be interested to watch how cute flirty flowers gradually turn into bright playful berries all summer long.
This decorative element will not only decorate the baby's bed with motleyness, but also drive away harmful insects from it, especially if you sow marigolds or nasturtium. Also, a calendula, zinnia or a bush of cosmei will be a great choice as a decoration for the garden.
In addition to the above, on a children's bed you can "settle" and garlic, and onions, and cucumbers, and sunflowers, and anything else. The main thing is that you do not need to choose too many vegetable crops and plant them in large volumes. And, if you plant too much, then remember - the baby may be disappointed with failure and he will no longer want to engage in gardening, so do not leave the care of the plantings completely on his responsibility, but help him finish what he started.
