Homemade zebra cream pie
Homemade zebra pie on sour cream is a delicious and very beautiful homemade pastry made from available products. He literally saves any housewife, unless of course conscientious guests warn of their visit at least an hour or so. Try adding ground cinnamon to the dough with cocoa, and a pinch of ground turmeric in the light part - it will turn out beautifully and aromatic.
This magnificent sponge cake turns out to be rather moist, but a little sour cream or chocolate icing with nuts will complement and enhance the taste. Pour the Zebra pie with icing or cream of sour cream and sugar and let it soak for an hour.

Ingredients for making homemade zebra pie on sour cream:
- 260 g of wheat flour;
- 3 chicken eggs;
- 180 g of sugar;
- 200 g of fat sour cream;
- 35 g of cocoa powder;
- 5 g ground cinnamon;
- 5 g ground turmeric;
- 7 g of baking powder;
- 4 g of baking soda;
- 2 g of salt;
- butter, semolina to lubricate the mold.
The method of preparation of homemade cake "Zebra" on sour cream
We prepare a detachable cake mold - remove the bottom, put the parchment for baking, put the ring on paper, close the lock and cut the parchment in a circle.
We take soft butter, grease the parchment and sides of the cake pan, then sprinkle everything with a thin layer of semolina. We remove the form in the refrigerator so that the oil freezes.
Break into a bowl three large chicken eggs, add granulated sugar, a pinch of fine salt. Beat for about 5 minutes, start at medium speed, gradually increasing speed. When the eggs with sugar turn into a lush mass, add in small portions fat sour cream, beat together for another 3 minutes.
We mix in the bowl the dry products for the cake - wheat flour, soda, baking powder and slightly ground turmeric. If there are acidic ingredients in the dough, for example, sour cream, then you must add soda. Firstly, it will be more magnificent, and secondly, there will be no sour taste. Ground turmeric will give light stripes a light yellow hue.
To dry products we add a mixture of eggs, sugar and sour cream. Mix the mass with a mixer to make it homogeneous and smooth.
On a kitchen scale, weigh a bowl of cake dough, separate half of the mass, add sifted cocoa powder and ground cinnamon, mix until smooth.
Now turn on the oven to heat up to a temperature of 180 degrees Celsius. We take out the form from the refrigerator, pour 2-3 tablespoons of dough with cocoa into the very center.
Then we pour light dough into the center of the brown cake, wait until it spreads a little and again, pour the dough with cocoa into the center of the circle. Repeat the procedure until all products run out.
We take a knife with a narrow blade or a thin needle, draw lines along the surface from the edge of the form to the center.
Put the “Zebra” cake tin in the preheated oven for about 40-45 minutes. Check the readiness of the pie with a wooden stick - it should come out dry if the dough is well baked.
Cool the zebra pie on the wire rack. If desired, you can pour the cake with chocolate icing, cream or jam.
