Inoculation of indoor lemon, mandarin and other citrus fruits
Hello dear gardeners, gardeners and gardeners! While on the street in the garden, in the garden, we don’t have much to do, of course, we pay great attention to our indoor plants. And very often it happens that it’s just by chance that in a pot with a houseplant, we grow either a lemon, an orange, or a mandarin. And you and I once spoke about this, that we accidentally drink tea, throw a seed, it sprouts, something is slowly growing, pretty, smart. Suddenly such a plant grows. And when we try this plant, what is it, we smell lemon, or orange, or maybe mandarin. All this is quite suitable in order to grow a pretty wonderful varietal plant as a stock using this plant. It is important that the site of intended vaccination is at least 4 mm in diameter.
Look, we take, remove from this - this is called a stock in our stock - the upper part. We do not need her. If we left this plant as it was, formed a crown, looked after it properly, watered, fed it earlier than after 10-12, or even 15 years, we would not have received a single fruit from such a plant. Therefore, in order to accelerate fruiting, we must plant a varietal plant in our game. What does a varietal plant mean? A plant that produces certain fruits, say lemons or tangerines, kumquats are different. Someone from acquaintances, for example, grow and bear fruit well. And it is from the fruiting plants that we must cut the stalk. We cut the cuttings from the part that is not very nice with us.
For example, look, here is this branch. The angle of departure of each branch is unsuccessful, and we can correct this situation by removing one of these branches.
The stalk is thin in size. But what to do? We will now make such a vaccine, which is called "split." We will make two cuttings from this handle. We cut it into about two identical parts, but take it so that the lower one is shorter, the upper one is more authentic. In this case, the cut with us, the same thing, will be larger. Cut off part of the leaves. You can cut the whole leaves, you can only cut part of the leaf blades so that the evaporation is much less in the plant. Thus we prepared one stalk, prepared a second stalk. There are two leaves. It is enough if we remove only half of the leaf blade. Thus. Here we have two cuttings ready.
Here on the rootstock we make a smooth cut, an even horizontal cut.
Now you and I cut in half along our stock, about two centimeters somewhere in depth. To the extent that we have thin pickups, then two centimeters is enough. So we made such a cut.
Now we make cuttings from these cuttings, cuts of which look like spatulas. Look, on the one hand - one, and on the other hand - two. Also somewhere around 1.5-2 centimeters. And we insert here into this split, which turned out to be a stock for us: one part, and the second stalk, you can remove the leaflet, and the same thing by making a spatula 1.5-2 centimeters in length, on the one hand and on the other hand, then insert the same, only on the other side of this notch of ours. Please do not touch the slices with your hands, do not carry any dirt.
Here we have inserted two cuttings, which we must fix already with a ribbon. Either this is a special ribbon, or just take a plastic wrap. And we should wrap it in such a way so that we always have the rootstock bark in contact with the bark of scion.
And, my dears, after about a month, two vaccinations grow together, and during this period you should simply spray the plant more often, take care of it, and feed it. So, my dears, you saw that it is not difficult to do this, but if you do this, a good varietal good plant will grow in your house called either a lemon of some kind, Meyer, for example, either an orange or mandarin.
