The first spring chores of gardeners
So rainy November flew by, and after it - frosty December and the snowy months of January and February. The time is approaching when every gardener begins to think about his summer cottage.
How to plant and grow a good crop?
It is spring - the time when all plants awaken, seeds germinate, buds bloom. Therefore, during this period, amateur gardeners plant seedlings in order to get the long-awaited crop already in early summer.
When the seeds have already been bought and brought home, they must be sorted. And for this they use a simple method. We dilute a salt solution (50 g) with water (1 l) and pour all the seeds into it, constantly stirring. After one and a half minutes, viable seeds will settle to the bottom, and the rest - carefully drain and discard.
Now it is required that the seeds sprout. To reduce the germination process, the seeds are wrapped in a wet cloth and for 20 minutes placed in a light pink solution of potassium permanganate. Then it is washed in clean water and a rag with seeds is placed in a bag for three days. Three days later, moisten with water and leave for a few more days. So, on the 6-7th day shoots will appear that are planted down by sprouts in boxes with the ground. When the first leaves appear - they are planted in pots. Watered the seedlings with warm running water with a small admixture of potassium permanganate (the solution should be soft pink) so that the plants do not get sick.
Some gardeners grow seedlings already at their summer cottage, such plants quickly adapt to the environment and rarely get sick.
In addition, in the spring they collect old garbage from the site and dig up the ground.
To grow a good crop, you need to take care of the planted plants, water and feed them with fertilizers, as well as cut old and non-viable branches, keep the garden area clean and tidy.
